About Mougu
Mougu is a bilingual (Japanese / English) media site for people who want to eat better.
We write research-based articles about chewing, eating speed, mindful eating, and the habits that shape how we feel after meals.
Why "how you eat"?
There's no shortage of advice on what to eat. But how you eat — how fast, how thoroughly you chew, how present you are — gets far less attention despite being linked to satiety, blood sugar, digestion, and weight by peer-reviewed research.
Mougu focuses on this overlooked dimension, translating what the research says into practical, readable articles.
Editorial policy
- Articles cite peer-reviewed research (PubMed-indexed) and established health organizations (Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Harvard Health, ADA)
- We do not make definitive health claims. We use phrases like "research suggests" and "is associated with"
- Articles covering medical topics include an explicit note to follow your doctor's guidance
- We follow E-E-A-T principles (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness)
